Another dream

Yet another dream (read about my other dream). Today evening I was sleeping when suddenly I realised that I am going to some hotel with Sathya. After going through some advanced hi-tech transport system within the hotel, we reach the bar. It was some driver less car system (like the Jurassic Park) but has only two couches opposite to each other. In the bar, Sathya leaves me and I am stuck outside not knowing what to do. I decide to go back to the lobby and wait for him and go wait for the next trip to take me back.

Suddenly I hear some gun shots and there were machine guns firing around everywhere. It went on for more than 15 minutes and the entire place has transformed into a war zone. People hide in underground pits and trenches and wait for the car. By this time I am semi-awake and realise that I am sleeping and dreaming about it. I keep hearing only the gun fire and cannot find out who is attacking and why. There was some movie on the TV and it must be the climax sequence. It seemed like almost half an hour (in reality it must be a lot lesser) and am tired of all the hiding and running away from the shots. I begin cursing the movie director for having such a long climax sequence and having no dialogs or breaks. Just constant gun fire. I do all these while dreaming and I rise up from the trench (as it is only a movie) and I get hit by a huge rocket launcher. I wonder what that movie was and want to watch it.

The movie has finished with the rocket launcher scene and I still am lying down with my mind blank. I then wake up but too lazy to move around start thinking about the things which happened in the dream. I immediately think that I should probably blog about it. But laziness overcomes me (the laptop was 2 feet from me) and I decide to do it later.

I think I should begin to practice Trans Consciousness Messaging Protocol and begin to blog from my dreams in my dream.

Why should I say "Vanga"?

Today early morning some guest had come in and they were speaking with my parents. I woke up late and saw them. I was asked to receive them saying "Vanga" (come in english).
Here are some points why I think this is worth a blog post (in other words - why I hate it):

• They have already come in and if I don't receive them it is not as if they are going to say "we are going to go out and wait till he receives us"
• There are some freaks who do such things (old age people). For them, I am not someone who they care about. They can expect the head of the house to receive them. If my dad didn't receive them, they can throw such tantrums. But why should they expect me to? When come to my father's place, I will do it.

Why I hate Sameera Reddy in Vaaranam Ayiram

I have not seen Sameera Reddy in any movie before. Vaaranam Ayiram was the first one. Actually she came on a TV for some reality show and the hate begun right from that. There was something in her which was bringing out all the hatred out from me.
After seeing the movie I suddenly realised that she has the "Sarah Palin smile". The fake smile that Sarah Palin has, which makes you want to punch the face numerous times till all the bones in your hands are crushed.
I also hated the character of Meghna in the movie.

I just hate this attitude. I have a blind belief that girls who talk like this (oh, I study everything daily) are no good in the brain department. I am sorry ladies, but until I have inconvertible proof otherwise, I don't plan on changing my mind.

However I think it is just I who feels this way. There are people who didn't like the movie because Sameera dies in the middle. But that person always hates movies which kills the heroine - Kakha Kakha, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, Pachai Kili Muthucharam.
Anyway I liked the film a lot. And watching it was the first thing I did this year.

2008 - A review

2008 has been a great year for me and I have done some really crazy things and good stuff too.
Here is an incomplete list of things I did (not in any particular order):

• Started a blog network with my friends - Must try to post more in there though.
• Traveled long distance (for a marriage) - Over to 2 new states (other than the usual 4 southern states)
• Got my reddit and ycombinator karma to 3 digits - Had been in the single digit for years
• Learnt to tell lies more
• Learnt to tell when others lie
• Learnt that it is very difficult to start things alone with no one to support you
• Decided to start something off my own
• Saw that it was too painful to continue one relationship and decided to put it on hold
• Learnt that I can write really long posts - only if it is private.
• Started off on a very interesting hobby/project and plan to complete it by 2010
• Started to see lots of series (Prison Break, 24, Heroes, Friends, Duck Tales)
• Couldn't accompany a friend when in need and felt very bad for it
• Atlast climbed the Anna Nagar Tower (after staying in Chennai for more than 14 years)
• Had a very bad dream which I dread even thinking about now.
• Moved to post-paid and paying 4 digit bills - should I switch back?
• Didn't goto a single ILUGC meeting
• Started staying up entire nights and going to office earlier than anyone on somedays

These are the things I can think about now. It is already late and need to wake up in about 2 hours. Do you have anything which I missed here? Please leave a comment about it.
I think next year I will have better things to write about.

Watch movies/shows in your dream

Of late I have been watching lots of serials (I didn't have cable TV when I was a kid) and I have on somedays watched 10 - 12 episodes in one sitting. I have been wasting so much time in my life on these and I wish I could stop. Though I have decided to not start on any new serials (I would want to start on Terminator) I have to watch Prison Break and Heroes every week.
Just when I was thinking about it, a really crazy idea came through. An average adult spends 8 hours sleeping and about 90-120 minutes are REM in which you dream. It would be great if people could watch their favourite shows/movies instead of some frightening dreams. It would be cool if someone brings out a product which you can plug into your computer and make it stream a particular video into your head.
However there are some things which one should take care of:

• If you are a sleep walker you shouldn't try this on. You might begin feeling tired after running down the street trying to escape from FBI agents or Jack Bauer.
• If you insomniac, you probably want some soothing music to be played instead of the Saw 4 movie.
• If you have a sleeping partner, better get a headset for him/her. So you can enjoy the movie together. Also it would help them in not waking up to your screams or loud laughter.
• Never keep any sharp knives or guns at reach of hands. You may hurt someone or worse yourself.

If all these things are taken care of, then the company which makes this would become rich by just asking for money from their subscribers every month (like the set top box or dish TVs).
So anyone other than me think it is a great idea? Or are you thinking whether I was a jerk for thinking out such a weird thing?

There was a song which had a line that I really liked. I didn't remember which movie it was in and was trying to hear all the songs in my iPod for the past 2 weeks. Atlast found it now.
